A Used Car Without a Pre-purchase Inspection Is a Bad Idea

We are serious. A used car without a pre-purchase inspection is a bad idea. We know that dealers certified used cars on their lots, but their inspection may not be as thorough as ours is. If you let us inspect the used vehicle that you would like to buy, we will give it a clean bill of health that takes many different factors into account. Here is what these factors are for your information.

Damage Control

We are using damage control loosely because the vehicle may have been damaged and you do not know about it. Not all accidents are reported. Not all vehicle fires or floods are reported. Consequently, it takes a trained eye to find evidence that a vehicle has been repaired after an automobile accident, a fire, or a flood. It is important to know that the vehicle has been in an incident for the following reason.

Even if the vehicle was repaired by the best body shop in town, there will be residual side effects of the incident that can affect how the vehicle will perform. Unfortunately, no automobile is brought back to its original condition after it has been involved in an accident, fire, or flood. In addition, in the case of a flood, you may have dangerous mold growing in areas of the used car that you cannot see.

Vehicle Assessment

The vehicle must also be assessed thoroughly to make sure it is in excellent condition. This means looking at everything from the roof to the tires. You do not want to drive a used car off the lot or purchase one from a private seller without having every aspect of the vehicle investigated. This helps you avoid purchasing a lemon that requires extensive repair work after you have bought it.

Diagnostic Test

Part of our vehicle assessment includes running a diagnostic check. This incredible tool can confirm that the used car is in excellent condition and ready for your purchase. It can also confirm that the used car has hidden problems that need to be repaired. The diagnostic test takes the data that the engine control unit receives from the system sensors and downloads it for us to read.

Make sure that you are buying a used car that will last you for years to come. Call us to schedule a pre-purchase inspection so we can confirm that the automobile is in excellent condition.
